The final project for my first architecture studio was to create an dining pavilion in Council crest park based off the sight analysis that I had done earlier in the class.

I decided to play with the idea of monumentality by obscuring the monumental structure from the road but emphasizing it from the walking path below.

The structure was environmentally situated to use all possible means of passive heating and cooling to minimize environmental intact and to utilize the innate aspects of the design and structure.

An artificial terraced canyon was incorporated to add natural feeling monumentality while adding much needed flora to the Council Crest park.

Despite all of the environmentally conscious design the open space and connected field create a seamless, open, and inviting space for gathering of all varieties.
