MEXICO HOUSE
This house was designed on a whim for my uncle that was scheming of a Baja condo that would pay for itself by being associated with a storage facility for the seasonal wind and kite surfers that frequent the area.
I took inspiration from thermal mass structures frequent in the area and the simple forms of modernism to try to form an oasis in the arid peninsula.
I imagined a large solid mass perched atop the storage compound, seated in a garden, with a view of the sunset over the pacific. Dramatically large doors to separate the indoor outdoor outdoor living when need be while maintaining the simple modern shape.
The goal of the living space is to be a communal meeting space to celebrate the day, spent on the water or adventuring inland, and share all of the tales and adventures.
